"In our day to day actions, it is often the small and simple things that will have a long-lasting impact. What we say, how we act, and how we choose to react will influence not only ourselves but also those around us. We can build up, or we can tear down." -Per G. Malm

Date Night X 2

So a great friend of ours gave us a coupon for a free pizza from pizza hut, 2 super saver movie passes and provided her daughter for babysitting for Free! On Friday Brock and I went out to Pizza Hut and then we actually rented a movie. I of course have not seen it yet because I fell asleep before the opening previews were over. (Good thing we have it until Wednesday). The next day my dad came over and watched the girls for a meeting we had and Brock asked my dad if he could stick around so he could take his daughter out for a date. He did and we doubled with some friends of ours and saw Letters to Juliet. I loved it. It was cheesy, predictable, funny, and adorable. I think it will go into our personal collection and will make the "Project Movie" list.
I love date nights.

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY BROCK

A week before Brock's birthday I decided to throw him a birthday party. I actually wanted to throw an extravaganza but there were some key factors hindering this idea. So I settled for a family party. I made some phone calls and put my plan into action. The 27th of February (the Saturday before Brock's birthday) I had my dad get Brock out of the house. I think he took him home teaching. While he was gone I hurried up and made his birthday linner. That is not a typo. A linner is a late lunch; early dinner. He loves these really easy chili cheese enchiladas. His step mom brought a 7 layer Mexican dip and chips, his mom brought a vegetable and I made a salad to go with. Yumm-O!Then I decorated. Emily and I had made the sign earlier in the week for craft time. She painted and I stenciled. All the while the guests are showing up. When grandma got to the house I borrowed her car and picked up the balloon bouquet from The Party Outlet.

He didn't suspect a thing and was surprised when he got home. We all hid around the corner by the stairs and jumped out at him.
The girls LOVE to help open presents.

And here is his cake chocolate with chocolate frosting (his favorite) complete with 30 candles. Emily and I made it on Friday and hid it in the food storage closet.

We had so much fun. Finally we are both in our 30's.

A Valentines Story

So I thought I would get crafty this Valentine's day and I went to Hobby Lobby (one of my most favorite stores) and bought a fake wood mail box and some cute scrapbook paper. I then covered the afore mentioned mailbox with said paper and this is what I got.

The black letters say Love Letters if you couldn't make it out.

Then every day until Vday I would put a love letter in it letting my sweetie know how much I love him and why. We decided to keep it up all the time. So when the flag is up that means someone has a love letter waiting for them.

This last Saturday I was out running errands and couldn't understand why the traffic was horrific. Then it dawned on me that the next day was Valentines and all the lame-o last minute shoppers were out trying to woo their intended with flowers (which die) and/or chocolate (which makes you fat). I was very put out. I mean I could have walked to office depot and Aldi's faster than it took me to drive for crying out loud.

I don't know if its just me but I am not HUGE into Valentine's Day. I think it is because everyday is Valentines Day for me. Brock does sweet things all the time with out hints or I want this or whatever. I know I am loved and appreciated everyday. So I guess I don't need a selected day of the year. Just me I guess. I am happy for all of you fellow bloggers who get into the day and get what you want.

My Sweet Escape

A wonderful (and really cute, I might add) Husband

A bath tub
Candles

A Good Book

What do all of these things have in common? Well as I was having a very stressful day with the children yesterday my most wonderful and perfect husband ran a tub full of hot bubbly water, lit lots of candles all over the bathroom and let me curl up to a good read to relax and melt away all of my stress. I came out of the baby's room after putting her down for bed and voila! There it was all waiting for me my very own sweet escape....

The Hunt

So last November (2009) Brock took a week off and went hunting in Ohio with his Dad. We took him to Ohio after church on Sunday so that we could have the car while he was gone. They went out on Monday and he got a doe. Then on Tuesday he got a buck or should I say Bambi. He was mad because the way the sun was it made it look bigger than it was up on the ridge. Two was the limit and he got two his first two days. Go honey!!! He came home for a few days and then went back to help process the deer. So we now have in my dad's extra freezer 28 quarts of deerburger and 5 quarts of deer stew meat and 1 gallon of roast type meat. That should last us a while. I'm not much of a deer meat eater but the need and desire to provide for his family won. If I mix it in with enough flavorings I'm sure it will be good. Actually to be fair I haven't had deer since I was like 9. My parents made dinner. We thought it was your average meat. I liked it until my parents told me what it was. So I will give it a chance. I am so proud of my manly hunter.

I love him because

So anyone knows I am married to the most wonderful man in the entire world, nay, universe. I love him for so many reasons and i love him more and more everyday. But one of the reasons I love him is because he never ceases to make me smile. As I announce that we are having manicotti for dinner he proceeds to tell our children that "Mommy is a manihotti". Smile, warm fuzzy feeling, lots of love. I am so glad I have eternity to spend with this man.

The Drive By

You know you married a winner when while driving to an appointment he sees a garage sale and slows down so that I could look and see if there was anything that caught my eye. He would have even stopped but we were running late. What a stud.

14 Reasons...

In honor of Valentines Day I would like to post 14 reasons why I love my husband. Aside from the obvious fact that he is extremely handsome they are (in no apparent order.)...

1. He has given me two of the most beautiful children in the world.
2. He is a great father to said children
3. He thinks my kisses are"divine"
4. He takes the day off work to take care of the girls so I can rest and get better when I have the stomach flu
5. He works so hard to provide for us
6. He strives hard to live worthy of his Priesthood so that he can be called upon at anytime.
7. He puts up with all my "great ideas"
8. He laughs when I whine instead of getting mad
9. He is a great kisser
10. He makes me laugh
11. He holds me when I cry
12. He listens to me even when what I have to say isn't that important to him
13. He is perfect (for me)
14. He is my wonderful eternal companion whom is a gift from my Heavenly Father.

I love you so much Brock. Happy Valentines Day
