"In our day to day actions, it is often the small and simple things that will have a long-lasting impact. What we say, how we act, and how we choose to react will influence not only ourselves but also those around us. We can build up, or we can tear down." -Per G. Malm

2 Going on 22

So my little Emily never ceases to amaze me with the things that she says or does. For instance today she was all mad about something and I tried to find out what the problem was and offer comfort when she pushes me away and says "I need my space." Then later on she gets out her toy cell phone and says "I need to text uncle Joshy" I mean you are 2!!!

First Five

Taking the challenge from Shanna...

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. If you have a request, I'd be happy to entertain it...(within reason, of course, and my budget).

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make for you! But I hope you will...
2. What I create will be just for you. Or maybe a member of your family if you'd rather.
3. Give me at least 'til August to finish
4. If you are long-distance, I'll probably send via cheapest shipping.

The catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people to comment.

The Leave it To Beaver Switcharoo

When I was growing up there was a show on TV called Leave it To Beaver. It was set in the 1950’s. The perfect little family. Dad (Ward), Mom (June), Sons (Wally and Theodore, nicknamed the Beaver). Dad worked in an office 9-5, mom stayed home wore a dress and heels, always had dinner ready when dad came home. And Wally and the Beave would always have a dilemma that taught some sort of moral lesson (Cheating, stealing, lying, etc…). The best part about this show is the language. They always said things like Golly, Gee, Etc.. Well we are going to have to make the switch because Emily seems to pick up on EVERYTHING I say and I mean EVERYTHING even if I don’t notice what I say. Brock said yesterday at breakfast she said Dang It and this morning I got really frustrated at her and apparently said Gosh and she finished with Dang It. So it is going to take a conscious effort to focus on what I say but it is Golly Gee Whiz, and Fiddlesticks at our house. Maybe we’ll even take a leaf from Scooby Doo and add in Zoiks, and Ginkies.

Those Lovely Hormones

Now that my body is starting to regulate a bit more after having the baby my hair is falling out by the droves. I think in the last two days I have managed to shed enough hair for a wig for a Barbie doll. I will say my 2 most favorite things about being pregnant is that I don’t gain a lot of weight and that my hair grows nicely without falling out.

Doctor Emily

So I have not been feeling well the last couple of days. Runny nose, scratchy throat and this morning I was downstairs packing Brock's lunch and I coughed and I heard Emily say from her bedroom “Are you Alright?” I hurried upstairs so she wouldn’t wake the baby and got her up and ready for the day. As I went in her room and told her I was okay just still a little sick. She told me to open my mouth and she reached her fingers in and proceeded to tell me as she was throwing something imaginary into the air that she was throwing away my germs so I would feel better. And at the breakfast table when I coughed again she held her hand to mouth and told me to spit out the rest of my germs. And she threw those away too. I don’t know if it was that or the 1 ½ hour nap I got but I feel a little better. She is so great. She makes me smile and I love these moments when she etches sweet memories in my heart.
